Christmastime is here! But before you go crazy on all the food and decorations your home can handle, make sure that you keep the safety of your pets in mind. Here are three pet poisonsyou should watch for this holiday season.
Poinsettias are often mentioned as being poisonous to pets, but there are other plants that are even more toxic for furry friends. Lilies are actually incredibly dangerous for cats as they can cause kidney failure, and mistletoe and holly can cause serious stomach issues if ingested. Don’t bring these plants home, and if you are gifted one of these plants, give it away instead of bringing it home.
Tinsel is fun to throw all over your Christmas tree, but this shiny and shimmery material can cause serious harm to a cat’s digestive tract if they eat it—which they probably will. Skip the tinsel and you can save your pet from an expensive surgery.
