Our Veterinary Team

We have veterinarians working seven days a week for your convenience. Friendly, dedicated and experienced in handling pets of all shapes and sizes, we welcome you and your pet to Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital


We also have licensed, registered veterinary technicians and other great support staff to help your pet. We combine the advanced facilities, and state of the art technology of a larger practice with the warm, personal touch of a small-town clinic, allowing us to take the time necessary to diagnose and create personal treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs.

Dr. Christopher Sissle, DVM


Dr. Sissle graduated from the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. He then moved out to California with his family and began working in and around the Sacramento area over the next few years. Dr. Sissle joined our team in 2013 and we couldn't be happier. His energy, enthusiasm and intelligence pushes the staff to reach for their own goals and sets an amazing example. He is a gifted surgeon and is often complimented on his ability to listen to the clients and pet's needs. He is a member of the CVMA, AVMA, SVVPMA and many other affiliations. He has two rescue Chihuahuas named Thor and Hulk. He is often at continuing education events, community events and mostly spending time with his two sons. 

Dr. Donna Folger, DVM


Dr. Donna Folger was born in New York City, New York. She moved to California at the beginning of high school and began working with large animals on farms with her father. She then decided to go to veterinary school and graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1989. She began practicing in Fair Oaks, where she met Michelle, Lil, Tammy and Dr. Berger. In 1992, the practice owner at Fair Oaks decided to purchase Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital from a previous owner, and all five of them ended up moving to SCPH, starting a new era for the practice. Dr. Folger is one of our most experienced full-time veterinarians and is an amazing surgeon. She spends her downtime supporting her husband, who is an author, and raising her children. She always has a cat around the house and is currently looking for a border collie puppy, her favorite breed.

Dr. Michelle Sievers


Dr. Michelle Sievers completed her undergraduate work at UC Berkeley, then graduated veterinary school in 1997 from UC Davis. She worked an internship in Ventura, California in small animal emergency medicine & surgery, with rotations into general practice. She has a love of emergency medicine, dentistry, and surgery. She has practiced locally in the area for the last 20 years. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and rafting with her family, scuba diving, mountain biking, and anything that takes her outdoors. When she does have free time she enjoys spending it with her husband and their twins. She also has one dog named Sunny and is always on the lookout for more animals. She is also a Chicago Cubs fan and is excited that they have won a World Series in her lifetime. 

Matilda - Customer Service Representative 


Matilda grew up in Citrus Heights and has worked at SCPH since 2002. She has worked in every department over the years and is one of the most knowledgeable members of our team. She has an amazing spirt and is always positive. She has a wonderful energy and always puts the patients at ease. Lately, she has been a crucial member of our Customer Service team. Matilda is a client favorite and is a valued member of our hospital. 

Rosalind, Veterinary Assistant


Rosalind has been at SCPH since 2002. Rosalind was born to care for animals and people. She loves to treat hospitalized animals and young animals. Rosalind was raised in Palmer, Alaska, and loves wildlife. She is also an amazing Volunteer for our local Little League program where she has been named Volunteer of the Year. She loves to give back to the community and loves children and animals. She is often requested by clients when they need to bring their pets in for technician appointments and is a staff favorite. We are lucky to have her as part of our staff. 

Jenn, Registered Veterinary Technician


Jenn joined our team in 2019. She is a highly skilled and compassionate RVT. She is one of the most skilled surgery and dental technicians in the Sacramento area. She is responsible for training our newer staff members and excels in that area. Precision and focus are her strongest traits and she sets the tone for bringing our best effort. An amazing leader for our hospital. She spends her down time caring for her animals on her local farm in the area.

Jocelynn - Veterinary Assistant


Jocelynn joined our hospital in 2021. She started out as a volunteer and is now a vital member of the technician team. She helps our doctors evaluate patients and then will perform all the technical services that are needed with speed and grace. She has a positive energy that the patients can feel, and it puts them at ease. She has 2 cats, Cammie and Camo at home and 1 dog named Coors. She loves to spend time with her friends and family. She also loves watching her nephew play Little League baseball.

Jenn F, Registered Veterinary Technician


Jenn is a Registered Veterinary Technician and began working for us in 2022. She is talented, hilarious, and highly efficient. Her surgery skills are outstanding, and she is an amazing communicator. She has an extensive background in management and runs her own mobile vet-technician business as well. Jenn has worked as a veterinary technician for over 20 years. She also loves French Bulldog puppies. She breeds them ever so often and is dedicated to all the work that it entails.

Raeleen, Veterinary Assistant


Raeleen began working as a veterinary technician in 2018. She is highly dedicated and motivated to provide the best personal care for all her patients. She is calm and gentle. She also has a way of dealing with upset animals well. She is happy when she can have a patient come in scared and leave happy and confident. In her downtime, she will spend it chasing her 3 chihuahuas and 1 lhasa apso mix around the house. And she also works as a mobile vet tech with her little free time.

Robert Olivas RVT, Hospital Manager


Robert was born in San Jose, California. At the age of 15, he began working as a kennel attendant. Through work permits and weekend shifts, he began learning the day-to-day operations of a veterinary practice. After high school, while working full-time at a veterinary practice, he earned a degree in Computer Science. Robert has worked for Sylvan for the past 26 years, working and earning promotions through every department. 

Today, Robert is the Practice Manager of Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital and a registered veterinary technician. He has helped Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital win multiple awards over the years and including the prestigious Best Veterinarian in Citrus Heights Award, through the Chamber of Commerce. He is also working as a Practice Operations Specialist for AVCSuccess, offering business management consultations all across the country and in Canada. 

Robert has a wonderful wife and two children. He also has a rescue Pit Bull Mix named Ren, three cats, and seven chickens. He believes in using our management experience, leveraging an amazing staff and trusting our instincts when it comes to making day-to-day decisions. He believes that an amazing staff is the key to success and creating a great brand name for your business.
